Raj wanted to conceptually portray the film's themes in this print: Andrew Neimann's (Miles Teller) literal blood, sweat and tears dripping and vibrating on the cymbal as he painstakingly practices and strives to be a drumming legend; amidst the pressures of life and the harsh teaching methods of Terence Fletcher (J.K. Simmons). The added brushstrokes around the cymbal give the print an overall kinetic energy which is evident in many parts of the film. The warm gold and black color choices reflect the palette of the film.
