"'Overwhelm' was one of the capstone pieces for my solo show Overgrowth at Last Rites Gallery, and it embodied best the conceptual nature and graphic theme of the exhibit. In "Overwhelm," aspects of fragmented thought are intertwined with nature's tenacious ramble and result in a tangled vibrant web of imagery and flora. There are several layers of texture, depth and color and my hope is that the viewer can get lost inside for awhile.
While I'm hesitant to EVER tell someone why they SHOULD buy anything, I am extremely proud of these pieces and of "Overwhelm" in particular. It was one of the first started and last to be completed pieces for the show, and I'm very pleased with the final execution, which is not always something I feel about my work, especially after some time has passed." - N.C.
