"I decided to utilize Poseidon to draw attention to the destructive manner we are treating our oceans. In this scene, Neptune is bereft of his horses, his inseparable companions, that had suffered from an illness he could not control. Humanity's excessive waste and overconsumption of non-biodegradable plastics had caused the disease. Neptune as seen in this image is prepared for battle and seeks to teach a lesson to the beings that killed his horses and the thousands of other creatures that call the ocean home.
