Publishing notes: Unpublished (ten portfolio copies were made at various sizes) Michael R. Everett features one of his favorite turtles in this artwork characterized by its strong movement and a simple, variable color scheme. Warm and cool shades of green complement the ascending map turtle and detailed textures of India ink develop the aquatic plants and shell of the turtle. Similar freshwater turtle images were seen in a 2001 Phil Lesh & Friends tour poster and a 2003 Railroad Earth concert poster.
