This handmade edition of silkscreen prints was created to celebrate the release of Tree's Trap Genius mixtape.
I used to collect punk and hardcore records and the album art was so important to me, sometimes more so than the music. These days I listen to a lot of rap where the music is given away for free download and the cover is an after thought.
When Chicago rapper Tree asked me to do the art for his mixtape Trap Genius, it made me think about the days when the album art meant something, having something in your hand was an experience. The Trap Genius screen print was made with this idea in mind. A 10 color screen print, hand numbered in an edition of 50 and packaged in a handmade portfolio with a certificate or authenticity.
