This is a poster from the 1920’s by Stafford & Co., one of Great Britain’s best early show printers, for the comic opera by W. S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, IOLANTHE. The poster image features Private Willis in the final scene of Act II just as he has sprouted fairy wings and will soon marry the fairy Queen, Iolanthe, and go away to Fairyland.
