Grey Melancholy Avenue is a screen print painstakingly created with eleven shades of grey to create the illusion of a fog-shrouded distance as you look down the avenue. The drawing from which this print is taken is the illustration for the section entitled ‘Melancholy’ in Stanley Donwood’s collection ‘Humor’, published in November by Faber & Faber. The print is hand printed on to 300gsm Somerset Velvet paper made at St Cuthbert’s Mill in Wells, Somerset, and limited to an edition of only 23 prints.
