Please allow us to introduce ourselves along with our first screen print edition.
Ratman Publication is a new art collective that aims to celebrate the contemporary street artist by highlighting the undermining nature of the genre. As more and more street artists discard their pseudonyms and embrace their fame and celebrity status, we feel it's only right to fill the chasm between them and the modern tabloid press. Why should the Paris Hilton's and Kardashians' of the world hog the constantly-contradicting world of tabloid spotlight while our much beloved heroes of public art go on under cover of darkness? Well, for good or for worse, we're here to change that.
Our first screen print or "tabloid art" as we like to call it takes on arguably the most popular street artist of our generation, Banksy, and yields him to arguably the most popular tabloid fodder; infidelity. And in true tabloid form, the imagery offers the viewer a moral dilemma; embrace or reject, laugh or decry, reason or deny.
The screen print is titled "Banksy Confessions" and will be available this Friday morning at http://ratmanpublication.com.
The prints will be 18 x 24 inches and printed on archival paper with three layers of inks. They will be strictly limited to an edition of 48 prints and will be signed and numbered Ratman Publication 2014. There will be 4 color variations (teal, pink, gold, & silver) within the edition that will be chosen and mailed at random.
