"The idea for the poster kinda stemmed from the color red. Red is being used as the identifying for the comedy part of SXSW so it got me thinking about bulls seeing red, then rodeos and the whole rodeo clown thing fit for comedy.
They wanted to incorporate the frog idea that originated last year on Todd Slater's poster, so the frog became the rodeo clown. He seems to be mascot for SXSW comedy."
