Shepard went to Kansas City on an artist residency program sponsored by the Charolette street art foundation in 2004. He had a workshop with local printmakers where he made approximately 15 Unknown Black Panther prints.
Prints were given to printing technicians and the foundation and technicians while Shepard kept a couple for himself. The print is on white, hand torn paper that is thinner than regular Obey prints from 2004. The dimensions of the print are 20.25 x 26.25 with the difference being in the margins. None of the prints were numbered.
