"Green Valley" & "Mountains From Mist" are both editions of 50 prints by James Naughton. The prints vary slightly in height (if you are framing them, you would want to stagger them or hang them vertically). "Green Valley" measures roughly 7" wide by 5.6" tall. "Mountains From Mist" measures roughly 7" wide by 6" tall. The archival prints were created by Tiny Showcase and ship with a corresponding certificate of authenticity. The archival artwork has been printed on a heavy 290gsm natural white print making paper made from 90% bamboo fibres and 10% cotton.
James is in the process of creating a body of work based on a trip in Wyoming, following the footsteps of the celebrated landscape painter Thomas Moran. Moran was born in James' home town of Bolton in the UK, where the main public gallery will be exhibiting the resulting paintings in March this year. You can find out all about the project on his blog.
Sold out editions of 50 prints.
James has chosen the Sweetwater County Historical Museum as his artwork's charity. Established in 1967, the museum is housed in a renovated 1930 post office building and contains a collection of several thousand artifacts, a large historical photograph collection, and local history research material allowing people to discover the rich cultural heritage of southwestern Wyoming. The museum examines the stories of Native Americans, explorers, fur trappers, travelers of overland trails, railroad workers, coal miners, cowboys, sheepherders, homesteaders, business people, trona miners and oil and gas workers. $250 dollars from the sale of James' artwork will be donated to the organization.
