On March 28th, Well Read, my first-ever solo show, will open at Galerie F in Chicago, and to mark the special occasion I am tackling something new - Books. All artwork for the show will be based on different genres of literature - the first of which being H.G. Wells' sci-fi classic, War of the Worlds.
With five months until the gallery opening there is still much to be done. The real hurdle, however, will be production because as much as I love silkscreen as a medium such beauty comes at a price. A run of 50 5-color 18x24" silkscreen prints roughly cost $500 a pop. I will be printing at least six (not counting variants) so I will need $3,000 to cover the bare minimum of printing.
