Despite the barrage of mounting evidence that freedom is under attack in the name of national security- from clandestine surveillance via drones and phone taps, the "Patriot" Act, occupation of major cities by militarized SWAT-type police forces, indefinite detention of individuals at Guantanamo without any charges, enhanced interrogation techniques, SOPA, retaliation against whistleblowers- much like Fox Mulder in the X-Files, I want to believe that the freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights still exist.
