"I love painting, it’s an extension of my truth which I wish to convey. On the day I painted this piece there was something about the colouring in the sky, temperature and energetic quality as the seasons seemed to transition right in front of me. I grabbed a colour palette without hesitation and let it rip across the surface. I slowly built it up layer by layer in a circular fashion in an effort to tie the colour and energy into one. My feeling was of each season melting together and how to balance the fight, which came very organically over the next few days of painting. As an ending I wanted to create a surreal pop, which would dance the eye across the surface like stepping between the seasons which is the representation of the vivid Fluro red.
With this piece there is an unplanned nature of the work, letting go with an overwhelming sense to create harmony and balance between shape, form and colour. No part of this work felt laborious and happened naturally like the seasonal changes. This work was a defining point in this particular style where in some ways it reached its peak before the next transformation occurs." - Vans The Omega
