Thank you again for your interest in the Shepard Fairey HEAVEN Dove. The Art of Elysium is a non-profit organization that is committed to supporting both artists and medically fragile youth in the community. We offer creative arts opportunities for hospitalized children and families. Shepard has been an ongoing supporter and volunteer of the organization for many years.
At our annual HEAVEN event on January 12, our call-to-action surrounded an 18 year old patient named Katie who was diagnosed with Leukemia her senior year. Katie and her family found great comfort and strength upon meeting The Art of Elysium. Her community raised $3,000 to support her and help provide any necessary accommodations the family may require during such a difficult time. Katie chose to donate that money to the organization so that other children could have the same experiences that she did and find their own sense of “hopeâ€. We asked everyone in the room to stand by Katie and pledge $3,000 in her honor to help make a difference in the lives of future children.
Shepard was inspired by this moment and has created a limited edition print of 100 that he has donated to the charity, inspired by the images created from his HEAVEN. Each $3,000 donation is 100% tax deductible. In honor of HEAVEN, Katie Ortega, and our mission, Shepard would like to offer the special limited edition piece to the first 100 people to commit $3,000.00
