In late 2012, while in Minneapolis, Minnesota, I encountered an ever-hooting Great Horned Owl outside my lodging. The Owl is seen as a death harbinger in many cultures throughout the world and with Jupiter high in the sky that night, I created this image to honor the visitor who urged me to shed my thick skin and begin anew.

This is NOT a mechanically or digitally reproduced print. Each is created from a design I've drawn and carved into a block of birch plywood. Ink is rolled onto the finished carving and with the paper in place it's turned through a traditional etching press, the height of 15th century technology! Every print in the edition is handmade by this process and their slight variations make each unique unto itself. Prints beyond this edition will never be produced.
