Not a lot of people know this but my site designer Bob Sharp is weird about chickens. He worships them! He talks to them even, like they were human people — only with feathers. I know that if it was legal he would have little three-piece suits made for them- ladies cut- and frocks of course, 'cos we must never forget that they are girls after all- chicks!- only real chicks. They have always made me laugh because they look so intense and their movements are slow and cautious- and that is not, in any way, a chauvinist jibe. It is an artistic observation, because I look at this kind of thing searching for the humorous mannerisms that most things possess. They simply look as though they are terribly worried about something or maybe they have forgotten where they laid their last egg. And even if they remember. it has already been take and eaten for breakfast. Americans particularly, have Eggs and Bacon — never just Egg and Bacon. Usually it's three to make it 'substantial' and hash browns and muffins on the side. So chickens are kept pretty busy and I wonder also if they actually KNOW that they may be eaten sooner or later? Chickens are cleverer than you think.......
