Artist's statements:
"the print is my reaction to not just weiwei cam (though that was the starting point) but to the idea of how power has leaked from the government into everyone's hands. Now mighty politicians (and dictators even) have to tip toe around issues, not just in fear of the nosy journalists, but the bored, facebook poking, you-tube cute kitty watching, internet users. it's a reminder of the power we have inherited, and the weiwei iconography is a symbol of the lives we can affect with this power, in a very real and direct way."
zhao:
"i've decided to make each print unique. each print will be in its own colorway. each with different stencil and spray paint elements. I want each to look like prints on very old and decayed walls with hints of old paint smudges from weather and pollution, and marks from previous stencils. sorry to those who wanted the CMYK versions, not making them anymore."
