Galapagos finches, drab they may be, have been so important in helping Charles Darwin (and thus the rest of us) understand how animals adapt and evolve. They're so important that each of these four species depicted here gets it own ornate frame.
This 8 x 10 inch print was made from an original watercolor, and shows four species of Galapagos finches: Geospiza scandens (Cactus Finch), Geospiza magirostris (Large Ground Finch), Certhia olivacea (Warbler Finch), and Camarhynchus parvulus (Small Tree Finch).
