"My typographic designs were inspired by 70s psychedelic poster art that were designed for concerts and shows. Google image "70s psychedelic poster art" or specific artists like "Wes Wilson" to get results that made me want to get into similar art. I guess my education of poster art began with my roommate freshman year of college who introduced me to stencil graffiti art like Shepard Fairey, and then began to show me books collecting flyers and posters from rock venues from as early as the 70s.
So when I began to experiment with typographic art, I thought about using a similar method to create iconic figures that I either enjoy, grew up with, or identify myself with. Being born in the 80s, I knew I had to draw at least one of these folks." - joshmirm
