this is the original drawing from which i made the cover of andrew bird's "soldier on" EP. the scythian horseman is depicted carrying his touring bicycle on his back, across the darkened snowfields of a northern illinois farm.
this pencil drawing measures 8.5 inches tall by 9 inches wide, though the actual shape is slightly irregular, and it is on heavy cover-stock paper. the back of the paper is an unrelated screen print i had made earlier. signed by me, jay ryan.
