Artist Statement:
What if the world really was black and white? Would you seek variation, or can there be contentment in limits? How many questions can be answered with a simple yes or no? If life was cut and dry, what would you do. This panda longs to escape his black & white world.
This nine color screen print is the very first of hopefully many prints I’ll be creating. Starting off with a 9 color piece done completely by hand was certainly a challenge but ultimately proved to be very rewarding. I learned a lot and am eager to move on to new projects. These prints are not perfect. There are variations from print to print however I think they add character and an authenticity that machine made prints can lack. Some of the variations include lines not quite matching up or registration being slightly off.
