This is an Untitled print by Phil Frost, published on the occasion of the exhibition Scribble & Scripture. Phil Frost is widely known as a part of the legendary Beautiful Losers exhibition, 2004-2009. This print has noticeable wear, rubbings, and handpainted elements that was intentionally done by the artist as hand embellishments. Picture is of the actual print. To be perfectly clear, Frost hand painted, rubbed and manipulated each print in a unique manner. This handworking IS the signature similar to the African tradition of placing a handprint on something to sign, leaving dna from the author or artist. Famous artist Peter Beard often "signs" his work in the same manner.
In 2005 Frost's work was shown along side that of Picasso, Dali, Magritte and Warhol in a New York show tracing the History of the written word in works of art during the last century.
