It's hard to believe that it has been more than 17 years since the West Memphis Three - Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley, Jr., and Jason Baldwin - were convicted of murdering three boys in West Memphis, AK. For the first time since their convictions, there is a real hope that justice will soon be served. According to a letter written by Lorri Davis, Damien Echols's wife, DNA testing is being allowed on a broad range of evidence - evidence that has been, up to this point, denied testing by the State. It is the hope of all who have supported the WM3 that this new DNA evidence will lead to Damien, Jessie, and Jason breathing their first breath of free air since 1993.
While the lawyers of the three legal teams are working pro-bono - there is DNA testing, expert witnesses and the expense of the three legal teams to go to Arkansas for the three week hearing in December that all have to be paid for.
With that being said, the first print that will be released on this site is entitled "I Want to Believe." The print is based on a piece I did last year. There are four variants of the print, each will have a run of 50. 100% of the proceeds made from these prints will be donated to Arkansas Take Action to help with the burden of setting the innocent free.
If the prints sell out, a winner will be chosen out of those who purchased a print to receive an original (on canvas) of 1 of the 4 prints - whichever he/she chooses.
