This is a prototype of the Dead in Egypt piece Rick submitted for the Grateful Dead's trip to Egypt in the Fall of 1978. Rick did several mock-ups of this concept hammering out new details in each one. The artwork was ultimately rejected by the Dead (they used Mouse and Kelley's designs instead) and the Griffin piece went on to become cover art for Relix Magazine.
