Archival Giclee (308grm) print
with 2 colour silk screen
(Gloss and pearl white)
and hand finished with oil paint
and Karisma pencil detailing
£215
The print stems from the original Joe Black artwork entitled 'Eat my Lies' and consists of 1,452 badges depicting western glamour imagery and the iconic Playboy cover.
Wonder Woman stems from the classical philosophy; beauty = truth. The piece focuses on the sexual mass consumption that has manipulated the female form to an extent that the beauty we see is distorted. The defacing of the 'Glamour' imagery used within this piece questions where the power of sexual attraction sits - in the real or the fake?
