Rare original 2000 JOHN SAYLES poster by Shepard Fairey for IFC films, featuring a political portrait theme that predates the Obama HOPE poster.
This large offset poster was designed by Shepard Fairey to promote the re-issue of many classic John Sayles films. John Sayles is known to the be one of the founders of the current American indie film movement, hence the Americana, Presidential theme (which was actually toned down because Shep's original design looked too 'stars and stripes' for the Director Sayles and his Producer wife Maggie Renzi).
These posters were not made available to the public and were printed in a very limited edition. Only the smaller sized 18 x 12" promo sheets are known to have been released. This is the large Theater Box size, 26.5" x 39". The colors are red blue and ivory and similar to the Presidential portrait Shepard did many years later for Barack Obama, the now famous HOPE poster.
