The postert features a detail image of the Quadriga statue that sits atop the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. It is of intersting note that the Iron Cross, which is located within the laurel wreath has been removed from the final image.
Badly damaged in the Battle of Berlin, only fragments remain of the original statue pictured in the poster. Having been cut up for souvenirs and scrap by invading Soviet troops, the gilded bronze statue was replaced with a reproduction in 1957. Only a single head of one of the original horses exists in a museum in Berlin.
