"This is a signed and numbered limited edition silkscreen poster by Arnold Skolnick for the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock, created specially for an event at International Poster Gallery.
The new poster is a time capsule in and of itself and cleverly references the original poster as well as the era of psychedelic posters. From a distance we see a white dove announcing the occasion above a sea of blue and green. But upon approach, running lines of text appear, and a ticker tape-like array of prominent personalities, artifacts and events of the era are revealed. Like the dove, all the colors are quotations from the original Woodstock poster, and its Op-Art design alludes to the elusive character of the era's posters.
Understated and elegant, the 40th Anniversary poster is a fitting tribute to an era and to an event which helped to define it."
