CAT was a CIA front business that was established by Claire Chennault in 1946 as a Chinese National Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (CNRRA) Air Transport operation. CAT planes and pilots (all CIA employees) participated in covert operations throughout South East Asia from 1946-1959 until it was reorganized as Air America.
