In the spirit of FlatStanley, the story about a boy who was flattened by a bulletin board and was able to be mailed to his friend's house in an envelope, we present THE FLAT TRAVIS PROJECT.
Flattened in a freak giant gong accident, the members of Travis no longer have to worry about taking expensive commercial flights and tour buses to take them where they need to go. An envelope does the trick!
This is a mail art project initiated by the fans of the band TRAVIS. The sculpture is mailed from person to person and has gone through North & South America, Asia, and Europe. The subscribers take pictures of Flat Travis in their hometown and have taken it to shows and have had the band involved with the project too. The band graciously poses for pictures with the fans and Flat Travis, the fans sign the back and then mail it to the next person on the list. There are many youtube clips of Flat Travis in action.
