Dexter Romweber Duo: "I'm draggin' the audience to Hell with me."
I did two versions of this poster. There wasn't much time to design it, and I was fighting with Schooley over the colors amongst other things (I wanted Jesus and a jail cell door on the crotch bottle, he wanted Bon Scott). He insisted on red and black, and (believe it or not) I wanted light blue and dark blue. Schooley felt the red better reflected the hell he wanted to drag his audience to. I thought the lighter tones just read better. I brought up the fact that the first representation of the devil in Christian art has him garbed in blue, and that red was usually associated with the heavenly aether beyond the lunar realm. Schooley told me to shove my book learnin' and make it red.
In the interest of time, we printed 50 in red and black, of which I kept 5. These were mainly used for advertising and some were sold at the show. I then printed 13 of the blue version and kept 8, giving the rest to Schooley to hang up or use as fuel for his moonshine still. Thanks again to D&L for the excellent print job.
