"It is a charcoal drawing that was done as part of a series of drawings for an exhibit. I initially started the series as an exploration into people who are stared at by others. I did a lot of sideshow people, but it started evolving after about the 20th drawing into a little expedition into the infamous and dark. And since I've always loved Poe, I thought it would be good to include him, especially with the unnerving and haunting way he seems to stares back."
