| | + | I've been drawing and writing since I was a tyke, you know? Grew up on comic books. Kindergarten: drew stickfigure Spider-Man saving people from burning buildings, all that. All day long. After getting into punk when I was thirteen, it was like a shot in the eyeball, creatively. I just took off, drawing-wise; there was a whole wide world out there. Early inspirations: Mad Marc Rude, Blackmarket fanzine, Bill Seinkewicz, Pushead, Jae Lee, Raymond Pettibon, Geoff Darrow, Subhumans LPs Rats and The Day The Country Died. My first "published" illustration was the 1993 Andorra Records compilation 7" Nowhere Street. 499 copies were made; I have #082/499 and one of 3 test pressings. It's a pretty bad comp, and, fittingly, the cover is awful; I had just turned sixteen when I drew it. Still, the event and opportunity itself was pretty amazing, and it got me hooked.<br> |
