Adding new art to the ExpressoBeans database begins with the Name field.
Gigposters
The basic EB format is: BANDNAME CITY YEAR ARTIST
- Example:
- Spoon Portland 09 EMEK
Bandname
- In the EB title, drop "The" for bands whose names begin with "The" (exception - the band "The The")
- Correct:
- Who Dallas 06 Uncle Charlie
- Incorrect:
- The Who Dallas 06 Uncle Charlie
- In the case of multiple bands, only the headliner should be listed.
- Do not use "&" in the title, spell out "and"
City
- The City in the Title should be the actual city in which the venue is located and is listed on EB.
- Correct:
- Widespread Panic Morrison 10 Wood
- Incorrect:
- Widespread Panic Red Rocks 10 Wood
- Widespread Panic Denver 10 Wood
Year
- The Year in the Title should be shortened to the last 2 digits.
- For Gigposters, the year of the actual gig should be listed.
- If the year is unknown, please enter the best approximation and note the year as uncertain in the Notes field.
- Correct:
- Spoon Portland 09 EMEK
- Incorrect:
- Spoon Portland '09 EMEK
- Spoon Portland 2009 EMEK
Artist
- The Artist in the Title should be entered as the last name of the artist who created the piece.
- If there are multiple artists, they should be entered in alphabetical order with a forward slash between them.
Art Prints
The basic EB format is: TITLE YEAR ARTIST
Title
- The Title should be the exact title of the piece as published, unless it is too lengthy for the input field.
- If the title is too lengthy, the full title should be entered in the Notes field.
- Unlike Gigposters, the Title of Art Prints should contain "the" if it is part of the published title of the piece.
Year
- The Year in the Title should be shortened to the last 2 digits.
- If the year is unknown, please enter the best approximation and note the year as uncertain in the notes.
Artist
- The Artist in the Title should be entered as the last name of the artist who created the piece.
- If there are multiple artists, they should be entered in alphabetical order with a forward slash between them.
