Baumhofer, Walter Martin (1904 - 1987)

Known as the King of Pulps, Baumhofer was one of the few artists to succesfully make the transition from pulp magazines to "slicks" (general interest magazines)and back. His art appeared on over 550 pulp covers and 750 covers and illustrations for general interest magazines as well as advertisements during his lengthy career. He died on Long Island, NY in 1987.
