Riesenberg was an accomplished landscape painter, but best known as an illustrator. He was born in Chicago, where he received his formal education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. There he won several purchase prize awards. Following his education, Riesenberg moved to Yonkers, New York where he contributed illustrations to journals such as Harper's, Scribner's, Collier's and The Saturday Evening Post. Riesenberg is also well known for his iconic images he created for recruiting posters for the United States Marine Corps and Liberty Loan campaigns during WWI. Contact
