Original poster from the short-lived Apple Boutique.
The story of the Apple Boutique is a fascinating look at how not to run a business. In 1967, Paul envisioned a "beautiful place to buy beautiful things," and the Beatles rented a building at 94 Baker Street in London. They hired an art collective known as the Fool (Simon Posthuma, Marijke Koeger, Simon Hayes, and Barry Finch) to design murals, clothing, posters, and more (they even painted John's acoustic guitar and Rolls Royce, plus Eric Clapton's Gibson SG guitar in wild, swirling designs). Mismanagement and disillusion soon set in, and in eight months, it was all over.
