A Part of the 'Disruption by Design' exhibition held in Victoria, Australia.
Exhibition Statement:
'Disruption by Design'
Intentional Catalyst for Change.
By disrupting everyday patterns of behaviour, attitudes and beliefs, we are questioning assumed societal stereotypes and perceptions.
This exploration creates new and fresh approaches that can allow for flexibility in our own design thinking, ideologies and practice.
Personal Artist Statement:
Have you ever considered how the things we touch alter our lives? How do situations we put ourselves in change who we are? How do the smallest of objects, the grandest of situations and the lives of others we intersect have a profound effect on the course of our lives?
Disruption of time and space is seemingly unfathomable. How can we change the future or the past without actually revisiting that time and altering things? The classic science-fiction adventure trilogy, ‘Back to the Future’ plays out this theory of time travel and time alteration.
Each poster of the triptych represents each movie of the trilogy (respectively). The posters are disrupted by a track laid by the film’s most recognisable and disruptive element, ‘The DeLorean’. This disturbance leads the characters on a journey of discovery and growth within and around themselves. These posters reflect the idea that objects, events, moments and situations create alteration, whether it be small or large, inconspicuous or obvious.
