The image in my poster was based on an event in the news about a month ago.
Flooding after a severe storm had occurred in rural areas of the Netherlands. Sea levels had rose and crept inland surrounding a herd of 100 horses on a tiny knoll in Marrum, about 90 miles from Amsterdam. The herd was stranded for 3 days, until the sea receded enough to allow rescue workers to bring two women on horses out to the knoll to lead the herd off and out to dry land. Nineteen animals had died of exposure and stress.
I found the photos of the stranded horses and them being led off of the knoll in a single file visually arresting, and thus wanted to use them for a poster."
