Turn on, dive in, and drop out with this year’s celebration of Albert Hofmann’s wide-eyed ride on April 19th, 1943, and the creation of his “problem child,” which would have an indelible influence on Garcia. Our 8th annual Bicycle Day print comes from Luke Martin who takes you into the “living theaters of psychedelia” Jerry encountered while diving in Hawaii’s vibrant coral reefs. Martin explains, “I wanted to paint a portrait of an explorer—journeying into the depths of his mind in the ’60s and the depths of the ocean in the ’80s and ’90s—the curious Jerry in his twilight years, on the eternal quest of artistic discovery.”
