This night image of Mont St.Michel captures the beauty and magnificence that radiates from this island.
The Mont-Saint-Michel are part of the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. The second most visited attraction in France after Eiffel Tower.
The island has been transformed mainly in the last three hundred years to become a French national architectural treasure. In 708 the archangel Michael appeared to St. Aubert, bishop of Avranches, and continually ordered the bishop to create a church upon the rocky island. “Aubert repeatedly ignored the angel's instruction, until Michael burned a hole in the bishop's skull with his finger.” Today the island is reminiscent of a fairytale: ancient cobblestone streets twist and turn up the sides of the island. On either side of you as you walk upward to a Romanesque church is a charming stone village. A cloud strewn sky aglow with the clear night sky filled with many stars and the moon. Their light reflects upon the shimmering sea waters below making the small waves sparkle.....
