"Teenage Bedroom"
"With 311 touring along with another great band from the 90's, the Never Ending Summer Tour, I thought I would pay homage to the early 90's in this illustration. Such a magical time, there was something so unique in the air, so many great memories. This scene takes place in a teenage bedroom, posters and magazine cut-outs all over the walls, clothes and magazines and cassettes all over the floor, and young love is in bloom. A dude and his girlfriend are chilling by the bed. He made a mixtape for her of all his favorite 311 songs (the mixtape cover is on the floor, between the fan and his sneakers – if you look close enough, you can make out some of the names of the songs). He puts the cassette into his walkman, and shares the earbuds with her so they could both listen together. And yeah, they may be stuck in this shit town, with nothing to do, nowhere to go – but they have dreams! Dreams of a never-ending summer. And so, on the bed between them, they're looking into this cheesy little 'tropical beach snow globe' that one of his relatives gave to him a long time ago. They shake the globe and watch the glitter fall over the little palm tree island. And as the music plays, it takes them away to a place better than here." - Flames
