70 x 70 cm, at £195""We're Stuffed - Penguin" is my latest limited edition print release, its also the official solo show release for the show titled 'MISSING'. Missing showcases 18 world species all listed on the IUCN red list of endangered animals. The African Penguin features in three mediums at 'MISSING' - the print edition, the painting and the robotic plush toy sculpture.
"We're Stuffed - Penguin" is available in three hand finished variants; the main edition - hand finished with rainbow threads, the hand finished bumble bee, and the hand finished penguin toy (Madagascar and Pingu penguins).
The African penguin lives and breeds in 28 areas in Namibia and South Africa, its listed as endangered and decreasing in population, 2015 recorded only 25,000 pairs in the wild. These penguins are victims to oil spills, food shortages and human interaction. Within the patches on the print i have painted the 'Shell' logo, fishing nets and Mackerel to highlight these issues, you will also spot a host of African wax fabrics and other World cloths.
