"I’ve had the idea of illustrating portraits for ‘Game of Thrones’ for a while now. In particular, I wanted to capture each character in a moment that best reflects their personalities. The characters of Game of Thrones are varied and unique in their behaviors and emotions. I tried to highlight these qualities by illustrating a moment where they reveal their true selves simply by their faces.
In addition to these character portraits I have also illustrated what I like to call ‘The House Sigil Portraits’. These depict the same characters but with their house sigil, which in the Game of Thrones world is commonly depicted by something symbolic of the nature of the family.
Rather than simply illustrating the same symbol for the characters that belong to same house, I depicted the animals in a realistic way that also reflects the associated characters personality, their very core behaviors."
