From the 'iam8bit Entertainment System' show,a nostalgic look at classic video games of the past.
The titlecard at the show lists the systems as being 'GameBoy/Super Famicom.
No such Akira game actually exists,having 'died' when it was cancelled by developers in 1993.
This is the inspiration behind the title of the piece,and also echoes the final words of Kaneda in the graphic novel - "The memory of Akira lives on in our hearts!".
As well as the 11x17 giclee prints ,there was also an OG,measuring 33x21, priced at $400 and this is what is pictured here.
