I have many Kevin Morgan posters from his great work at the Fur Peace Ranch in Pomeroy(Darwin),OH.
He has countless event posters from the past 10 years at the Fur Peace Ranch were I am a very happy FPR veteran with a couple of season passes in the front row. I love that place, my personal "home venue", it's really hard to believe it's starting it's official 11th season this Sunday 3/30 with a killer season opener which is sold out (max 200 capacity_Fur Peace Station Musical Hall) which is more like a big living room than a venue.
The Jorma/Roger McGuinn season opener is just the beginning of another stellar year. Jorma & Vanessa Kaukonen have outdone themselves this year IMHO and already have 3 sold out shows with the Jorma/DBromberg getting very close I hear.
Sold out already are Jorma/Roger McGuinn, Tommy Emmanuel, and yes this year Warren Haynes will be playing as well as teaching in the SEastern Ohio hills.
Last week's 3/15 Hillelapolooza Benefit for Ohio University was a great show, which opened up with a silent auction with plenty of food and beverages as well as a fine set by Jorma and Barry Mitterhoff who were joined for the last few numbers by Rob McNurlin who Jorma and Barry backed for the last three songs of the set. Then there was an intermission as well as more food and a close to the silent auction which was a big hit as well. Lots of great items and familiar faces. Can't wait til this Sunday, I'm ready for the 11th season to begin. After the intermission a local Athens, Ohio band the Royales closed the show with Jorma joinin' in on a few numbers. The show was filmed, I hope to see the video some point this year (fingers crossed).
