Francisco Goya’s Boy in Red is one of the greatest paintings ever made in my opinion. It depicts a young, fresh-faced boy with a bird on a leash. In the boy’s shadow, we see the murderous, sinister parts of our own minds which want to devour that innocence. This work is inspired by that painting and by the scratchy-ink drawing style of Edward Gory. The original drawing that this print came from was part of the 2018 Cat Art Show in L.A.
