Gouache and watercolor on paper"This painting focuses on species that most of us appreciate for being beautiful or cute, but that don't merit special conservation considerations because their populations are stable or even high enough to be a nuisance. Most animals fit into this level of prioritization, living and dying in makeshift habitats on whatever land we have least use for, amid our pollution and highways and homes and collapsing ecosystems and discarded things, their situation never quite dire enough for us to feel it's worth the trouble of fixing." -- Teagan
