'The Absurd Balloon' or 'Le Ballon Absurde' was something I imagined upon last summer on holiday in the Scottish borders. I chanced upon a stunning photograph of a Muskox in a newspaper and instantly felt the urge to draw it. Then gradually the fantastical vision of the great hairy beast sailing silently through the clouds formed in my mind's eye and has been with me ever since.
'The Absurd Balloon' is a brand new print for 2011 limited to an edition of 25 hand-numbered and signed, two colour screen prints printed on heavy weight paper. The print measures 34cm x 48cm and as with all hand-pulled screen-prints there are sometimes tiny glitches and differences throughout the run - that's all part of the charm though!
